There are so many different ways and interventions to approach counseling that sometimes it can feel overwhelming. When working with clients, for me, in its simplest form, it really comes down to helping clients get to know themselves better.
Knowing yourself, your edges, your fears, your activations, your highs and your lows- exploring all of these places allows you to be more present, aware and healthy.
It's hard work to dig around in there, and that's why having a safe place to contain that process gives you the extra support and assistance you need in the process of self-discovery.
My goal is to help clients access parts of themselves that have been hidden, and gain a full understanding of their whole world. This is a collaborative effort that we share together as we clarify goals, dreams and aspirations of emotional and mental growth.
Individual counseling is unique to each client as we will address your specific needs and create a space where you can accomplish your mental health goals surrounded by safety and warmth. My work is rooted in multiple theories and disciples, including but not limited to- narrative work, person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral interventions and emotion-focused perspectives.
